Venue Technical Manager – The Mill, Birmingham
The MJR Group are looking for a full time Venue Technical Manager to work within one of our flagship venue working on a varied program of live events.
The role is based in Birmingham at our multi-purpose space ‘The Mill’. To apply for this role it is expected you have at least 5 years experience working in live music venues in either an Audio or Lighting position.
To maintain audio, lighting and rigging equipment around the venue.
To operate sound and/or lights on events in the venue.
To work with the company production manager and production assistants to ensure specifications for all events are met.
To work with the company technical manager to ensure that the technical specification in the venue is kept current and planned maintenance and scheduled inspections are performed.
To book all freelance crew for shows in the venue.
To keep backstage areas tidy and maintain a safe working environment for crew and artists.
A specialism in live audio or lighting with good working knowledge of Midas consoles and System processing as well as Avolites boards and lighting networking protocols.
Ability to take the lead and work in a small mixed skilled team.
A functional knowledge of video systems
A good working knowledge of HASAWA, PUWER and LOLER regulations.
Excellent IT skills
Formal health and safety qualification
PASMA and IPAF ticket
Full UK driving licence
